Achievements & Accolades

  • The Commission on Cancer (CoC) awarded Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers “Full Accreditation” status in May 2015 for completing the Oncology Medical Home (OMH) Accreditation Program pilot survey.   “Full Accreditation” is awarded to practices that comply with eligibility requirements and standards of the CoC.  (Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C.  was one of seven oncology practices nationwide chosen to participate in a federally-funded community oncology grant program demonstrating viability of oncology medical home to meet the needs of oncology stakeholders:  patients, providers and payers.   Dr. Bruce Gould, medical director of NGOC, is providing leadership to this program through the Community Oncology Alliance based in Washington, D.C. as Vice President.)
  • Dr. Michael Andrews has been named to the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education (Georgia CORE) Advisory Board.
  • Marietta Cancer Center Oncology Nurse Kristina Nix was nominated by a patient for CURE Magazine’s Extraordinary Healer Award for her compassionate cancer care.
