Responsibilities include pre and post-transplant patient follow-up appointments, new patient consultation and assessments, dictation, hospital admission determination and orders, performance of medical procedures, and all other routine Nurse Practioner responsibilities. Charge Nurse, January 1997 to July 2001 Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, GA Worked on the 35 bed oncology unit in the position of charge nurse. Responsibilities included administration and monitoring of chemotherapy agents and blood products, patient teaching, assessments, venipuncture, direct patient care and all other routine nursing responsibilities. Staff Nurse, September 1996 to December 1996 Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, GA Worked in the radiation oncology department as the only staff nurse. Duties included patient teaching, assessments, assisting radiation oncologist with the examinations and brachytherapy, venipuncture, triage of patients and provided direct nursing care to inpatients and outpatients. Nurse Technician, June 1996 to August 1996 Columbia Polk Hospital, Cedartown, GA Hired as a new graduate nurse to work in the position of nurse technician until nursing licensure. Performed all routine nursing duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. GRADUATE CLINICAL PRECEPTORSHIPS: Wellstar, Mableton, GA 190 hours of clinical experience in a primary care, internal medicine multi-physician’s office. Assessment diagnosis and treatment of approximately 20 patients per day under the supervision of the primary physician. Emory University, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Atlanta, GA 158 hours of clinical experience on the Bone Marrow transplant unit of an Academic Medical Center under the direct supervision of a nurse practitioner and several physicians. Assessment of pre and post-transplant patient’s as well as performed various procedures, including lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and administration of intrathecal chemotherapy.
